Product Details

A gorgeous World War II-era sterling silver flower brooch from Coro. Is this a peony? A cabbage rose? Repoussé metal work gives the flower its lush texture. Marked "Sterling Genuine Norseland" and "REG.U.S.PAT.OFF." Circa 1940.

Norseland is a registered trademark of CoroCraft. During World War II, 70% of Coro's jewelry plants converted to military production. The facilities that continued to produce jewelry began using sterling silver, declaring Coro the first company to use non-priority metals in support of the U.S. war effort. These designs were called Scandinavian style. The silver was sourced in Scandinavia, and thus, the jewelry line was trademarked "Sterling Genuine Norseland" and featured a Viking ship maker's mark.

Details.....The brooch measures 1.75" in diameter. In Very Good Vintage Condition. You should always expect some wear on vintage and antique pieces; we consider it part of the charm.
